Korean War Museum 21-10 Seoul (Friday)
On our second day in Seoul we had planned to visit the War Memorial of Korea in the morning and return to the air how in time for the flight demonstrations.
In stark contrast with the day before the weather started off really cloudy.
So we went to the War Memorial hoping for the best. The War Memorial, located in downtown Seoul (close to the Iteawon shopping district) has several sections, the indoor
section witch cover the wars Korea has been involved in all her aspects. More lively is the outdoor section filled with vehicles, tanks, field artillery, armoured cars, guns from warships, a submarine, radar equipment, and especially
aircraft. All kinds of military hardware used in World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam War era, are displayed.
Sadly the rain became worse and worse until the moment that taking shelter under a B-52 was not keeping us dry. It became obvious that taking pictures at the Seoul Air Show
would not be possible that day and we decided to go and have lunch near the central bus station where we had to pick-up our luggage.
Without seeing the flying program, which lasts no longer than an hour or so anyway, but still satisfied with our short stay in Seoul we went of the airport to get our
flight to Japan. After spending some time in the duty free it was time to board our flight to Nagoya. Where on arrival we went straight to Club Tocoo, which sounds like a nightclub, but is actually a car rental company. Here we had our first
language barrier, but luckily the lady from Hertz next door did speak English so most of our questions could be answered. Sadly nobody had a clue about how the navigation system worked or how to explain to us, we where left with a Japanese
navigation system and a remote to operate it. This was our challenge for tomorrow. We had an appointment at NAF Atsugi for 10:00 in the morning and we were starting at Nagoya Centrair Airport.
