During a vacation trip to the Nordkapp we visited this aviation museum with is located just outside the main gate off the Norrbotten Wing, F 21 in Lulea. At the time of our visit it was officially closed, bud luckily we where greeted by a friendly former Saab 32 Lancen pilot, on of the many volunteers maintaining the museum, who let us in for a tour.

At the main chopping centre near Lulea this Saab 37 Viggen an be found.

The museum building consists of a barrack from the barrack camp, which has been moved and connected to the old sub office exhibition, both buildings being from the beginning of the 1940s. It reflects on the history and the various aircraft types used by the Norrbotten Wing, F 21.

The indoor part of the museum shows the history of the wing in more a less a ten-year intervals, next to the indoor display equipment is displayed that was used on a daily base like fire engines and radar aquipment.

The museum also has four special exhibitions, one on "F 19 - the Swedish Voluntary Airplane in Finland" - action during the winter war 1939-40, one on "Air Operations Balchen", with American airplanes from Kallax, exiled northern Norway through air transport of equipment, one About "Emergencies and Accidents in Norrbotten during World War II 1939-1945" and one on "Cold War"

A few Swedish Saab 37 Viggens trainers were refurbished and converted into SK37E, Electronic Warfare Viggen. All SK37E were stationed at F4 until 2004, when they were transferred to F21 Wing to fly along the recce version AJSF37 during Viggens last operational year in 2005.
